Asean FLAG

AFLAG (The ASEAN Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics) is established in 1995 during a preliminary meeting held in Kuala Lumpur.

 

The objective of the federation are:

  • To promote and advance the science, practice and application of land surveying and geomatics for the advancement of mankind and community and to foster regional cooperation and transfer of technology;
  • To encourage communication between persons charged with the technical responsibility for the planning, design and execution of the practice of land surveying and geomatics;
  • To obtain and disseminate among the members, information on land surveying and geomatics and related matters affecting the profession, and to print, sell, publish, issue and circulate the records of transactions of the federation or any papers, periodicals, books, circulars and other literary undertakings or any extract therefrom as may seem conducive to any of these objects;
  • To educate and seek to improve, extend and elevate the technical and general knowledge of members and persons concerned with land surveying and geomatics;
  • To serve as a focal point for exchange of ideas related to land surveying and geomatics;
  • To conduct, encourage and collate research in land surveying and geomatics;
  • To establish, form and maintain an index of available or existing literature and articles of interest in connection with land surveying and geomatics;
  • To cooperate, as may seem conducive to any of these objects, with national and international organizations and to support and supplement their work.

About Bali

Where is Bali?

The island of Bali is part of the Republic of Indonesia and is located 8 to 9 degrees south of the equator between Java in the West and Lombok and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands (Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba and Timor) in the East. Flying time to Jakarta is about 1.5 hours, to Singapore and Perth (Australia) 2.5 and 3 hours, to Hong Kong about 4.5 hours, and to Sydney/Melbourne about 5.5 to 6 hours.

Don't look for "Bali" in airline time tables. It's listed as "Denpasar" (DPS) which is the name of the island's capital. However, from Bali's international Ngurah Rai Airport it takes you just 15 to 30 minutes by car to Kuta, Legian, Sanur and Nusa Dua, and in about 50 to 60 minutes you can be in Ubud.
